Endodontic Microsurgery

While most teeth will heal with routine non-surgical endodontic therapy, in some instances a minor surgical procedure is needed to help clear an infection. Endodontic microsurgery can be used to locate fractures or hidden canals that do not appear on x-rays but still manifest pain in the tooth. This procedure is done in the comfort of our office with the use of a surgical operating microscope and other state-of-the-art equipment to ensure the best chance of healing and retention of the tooth.

What Should I Expect After Endodontic Microsurgery?

Following the procedure, there may be some discomfort or slight swelling while the incision heals. This is normal for any surgical procedure. To alleviate any discomfort, an appropriate pain medication will be recommended. If you have pain that does not respond to medication, please call our office.
